Our exclusive English for Science courses are designed to improve your scientific English communication skills for study or research purposes in both academia and private industry. These courses are ideal for students and professionals specialized in the biomedical field (i.e. Medicine, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Toxicology, and Biotechnology).
By simulating work-related situations, you will learn-through-doing all the basics required for a successful career as a PI, researcher, teacher, or technician. The course content will be outlined according to your specific language needs and research interests, and, within that context, will integrate the four basic English language skills: speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
Through simulations of phone calls and email writing, you will improve your networking strategies aimed at promoting your research and seeking collaboration with other labs.
You will also learn how to present data effectively at lab meetings or international conferences by simulating journal clubs and power point presentations. For this purpose, our certified teachers with long-standing experience in the biomedical field will teach you how to hook the audience while delivering a fluent and well-structured presentation. Emphasis will be given to body language, signposting, Q&A, comparisons, correct pronunciation and intonation, conclusions, and inferences.
The training will also focus on written communication to seek extramural funding such as grants and fellowships or publish articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Upon completion of the course you will be given the Certificate of Achievement with an indication of the level obtained according to the CEFR standards. This is proof that you have successfully completed a Scientific English course with Abeschool.
All applicants should already be at pre-intermediate (A2) level at least.
Abeschool is also present on Research Gate
